Dallas is a particularly lively city, with many enormous annual festivals taking place all through the year. During the busy holiday season in the summer, the indoor Boat Show is a major highlight in July, as are the Spanish-themed celebrations the following month.

Annual Dallas Festivals


  • January: Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, held every year during the middle of January, one of the oldest festivals of its kind throughout the USA, known for its cowboy events and enormous crowds

  • August: Viva Dallas, celebrating the rich Spanish heritage of the city, featuring live entertainment and music
  • September: Grapefest, based around the Grapeville Historic District and featuring a range of food and drink related events
  • September: Great American Trucking Show, with large and impressive trunks on show at the Dallas Convention Center
  • October: State Fair of Texas, taking place each year at Fair Park, with a range of family fun for all ages, including pig racing and open-air music
